*Sharpening the Cutters: John: "I recommend always starting with a fresh grinder burr, and another fresh grinder burr for the finish cuts. It doesn’t matter if they still seem sort of sharp, do it anyway, this disciplined approach will serve you well. In between, it’s ok to touch up with a little diamond paddle/slipstone as often as needed. Some woods don’t dull the cutter much at all, some do, but you should never need to push hard or force the cut. It’s ok to sharpen with the diamond or a slipstone more, but there’s a tendency to round the cutting edge with continued use of the diamond, and a rounded edge won’t cut."
These 3/16” high speed steel cutters are easily removed for sharpening or replacing. The hook tool tip is rounded on the base end to allow the tool to fit into the smallest sized opening.
