Dear Fellow Woodturners,
In my woodturning travels around the world, I have used pretty much every kind of lathe there is; in fact I own several of them. The "STUBBY" 750 is the most innovative, versatile, and exciting lathe I have ever used. It is very smooth and quiet, with a powerful 2 HP variable speed AC drive. Cast iron construction is robust and simple. Unique is the sliding, pivoting bed, which coupled with the auxiliary bed, the right and left hand toolrests, will allow easy access to any part of anything that can be turned on its considerable 30 inch swing. Nothing is clunky or hard to move. Every part moves easily and locks accurately and securely. Another outstanding and unique feature is the cast in vacuum port.
The last few years have seen the introduction of a number of high quality, specialized lathes. This has been great for woodturning; however, lathes are not a "one size fits all" machine. If you are in the market for a high quality lathe, particularly for bowl, vessel and sculptural turning, consider whether the "STUBBY" will fit your needs. Its smoothness and ease of use make it ideal for small projects as well.
Auxiliary bed, two toolrest bases, built in vacuum port, 2 HP variable speed AC drive, spur drive, revolving center, faceplate and remote start/stop switch are all standard equipment and make the "STUBBY" a very good value.
If you have any questions or would like to place an order, please contact Vicki or me.
Sincerely,
John Jordan
